#41 COLLAPSE MACHINE stages

1. Terminal Races

On first week of university, I learned C++ basics. 2016 year, i guess? I desired to make game already. Remember "Tetris Racing" or "Brick Racing". I don't have old files, but I wanted to make similar thing to this: image

I rendered text into terminal, to make border, car in center, and some random obstacle. It was fun to run forward infinitely. Eventually added gears shifting with numpad. Hold 0 for clutch, move gear shifter with arrows on Numpad. Drive faster. Also made map for global world, where you can choose destination. And drive N km to it. Also made giant walls and rocks you can't travel in Just a tiny game

2. Hotline Synth

Some time later I learned Unity and made other game inspider by Hotline Miami. Topdown, basic 3D models and sprites. I manually made level, put NavMesh, and A* pathfinding i downloaded. People with guns run around building, i push doors and smash windows. Can grab and move blocks to hide. Very fun. NPCs patrol, call for help. On death drop gun I can use. NPC could be hostage taken. Then other NPCs are afraid to shoot you, unless you turn around or they lose line of sight. Neony Also outside there was a car you can drive. I also added gears system with same numpad, for some reason I liked idea.

3. Grand Theft Mad Max

In around 2017 - GTA 5 got modding with FiveM. I joined RolePlay server. Learned rules and how code works. I insisted on helping to code new Zombie-Mode for RP server. Some time later I solo started work on Mad Max mode for same RP server. 4 months spent on developing: Player spawns randomly in Senora Desert: loot random stuff you find in world, loot is reset once a week. NPCs drive by you, but you gotta trick them into crashing, to steal their car. Find real people, make friends. Your car position and tuning are saved on server. So other players can find your car if offline. Collaborate and survive.

4. RISING BONEvR

Not related, i just bought VR headset and inspired to make VR climbing game. Legless skeleton climbs up hell. We made 1 level for demo in steam, physics based. . I got more familiar with Unity development

5. COLLAPSE MACHINE

My MAGNUM OPUS. My dream of a game I never seen. I learned enough. I want open world, networked multiplayer, voxel terrain, driving vehicles far away, NPCs, grand open planet for your adventures. For years I've been thinking what's the best idea. I found idea: Super magnetic planet being colonized by androids and humans, spreading new DNA and tech on fresh planet. But you it grows so fast, other things already decay too fast. Someone raids that for own gains. You are one of them. At this point idea and code is done. We are making assets and models now, sound desing, optimizations. Making world feeling alive. Maybe on half way to early access. When other people could join our game to try it out. Travel and raid.
